Rio Grande at Rinconada - 12x12 Acrylic on Masonite, plus frame
There is no way to explain the feeling of River Glow when you come out of running water. For almost all of my life, I've lived within a quarter of a mile of a river. In Minnesota, the Mississippi was just past the Brainerd High School and down the hill to Kiowanis Park. We would put canoes in and go down the Mississippi to Crow Wing Park.
In Montana, I lived off the Yellowstone River while working for the Gallitan National Forest on the norther border of Yellowstone Nat'l Park. Some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Basking in the heat of the Mammoth Hot Springs, diving from the top of a cliff, only to peek at the last minute for a timely faceplant. Fields of elk, seemingly endless.
The Rio Grande and the Embudo Rivers have a entirely different personalities, as do all bodies of water.
